Israeli occupation forces killed an elderly woman and a child in separate overnight invasions in Ramallah, in central West Bank and in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank’s northern part.
At dawn Thursday, soldiers stormed the home of Haniya Hannoun, an elderly Palestinian woman in the village of Al-Mazra’a Al-Gharbiya, north of Ramallah.
Journalist Ali Dar Ali stated that Hannoun died after soldiers assaulted her and her family and abducted her grandson Mohammad Abbas Hannoun.
The soldiers stormed her home and ransacked its property during the violent searches while assaulting her and her family.
Media sources confirmed the fatality, describing the invasion as violent, especially the targeting of the elderly woman and her family while the soldiers ransacked their home.
Hours earlier, Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian child in the town of Al-Yamun, west of Jenin.

Quds Press identified the slain Palestinian child as Murad Fawzi Abu Saifein, only 15 years of age, and added that the soldiers blocked a Palestinian ambulance trying to reach the child.
After shooting the child, the soldiers closed the area and prevented Palestinian ambulances and medics from reaching him to render the urgently needed medical care.
The Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA) said the soldiers shot the child with several live rounds, prevented the Palestinian medics from reaching him before the army confiscated his body.
WAFA added that the soldiers stormed and searched several homes and buildings, in addition to deploying sharpshooters on rooftops.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said the army informed the General Authority for Civil Affairs that the army has the child’s body.
In a brief statement, the Israeli army claimed the Palestinian had “attempted to hurl an explosive device at soldiers” during a nighttime invasion.
No injuries or damage to military vehicles were reported, and the army did not release the victim’s identity.
With the death of Abu Saifein, the number of Palestinians killed in Jenin Governorate since the start of the Israeli assault on the city and refugee camp of Jenin on January 21 has risen to 56, with more than 200 others injured.
Throughout this period, Israeli forces have completely demolished over 600 homes—amounting to 33% of the camp’s structures—while approximately 22,000 residents have been displaced to surrounding towns, villages, and neighborhoods within Jenin.
The Israeli military continues to intensify its daily incursions into Jenin’s towns and villages, carrying out home raids, detentions, and on-the-spot interrogations of civilians.
Both incidents occurred amid intensified Israeli military operations across the West Bank, including flare deployments, home invasions, and mass abductions.
